Prenatal and Post Natal
Prenatal
As you prep for the birth of your little one, don't forget to care for the body that is cradling them and build strength for coming labour. Also, a strong post natal body starts before your baby is born.
It is common knowledge this pressure can put a huge tole on your pelvic floor. Despite popular understanding, pelvic floor exercises are so much more than a couple Kegals a day. In fact, for some women, this may be doing more harm than good. Every body is different.
Discomfort is not uncommon particularly in the second and third trimesters. These discomforts could be anything from a slight niggle or pain when turning over in bed, getting dressed in the morning or in and out of a car.
We believe than women should not have to suffer with debilitating pain and discomfort. Usually the earlier little niggles, aches and pain are addressed, the less likely they are to turn into something more severe or disabling.
Work with us and you will learn how best work with your body to care for the little one you are carrying. You will also receive a customised strength and mobility plan catered to your body and needs before labour.
Our prenatal sessions may cover:
Hands-on treatment and management for any pregnancy related pain (lower back, pelvic, tailbone or pubic symphysis pain)
Pelvic floor education, assessment and an individualised or customized training programme
Education on how to reduce your risk of pregnancy related dysfunction such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence and bowel dysfunction
Education on alignment, movement and safe exercise
Postnatal care and advice
Common pelvic floor and abdominal dysfunctions may include:
